If you cannot be there, in the flesh, a DVD is the next best way to experience the wonder of Scotland.
Here are some DVDs that I consider a good buy:

Visions of Scotland (2005) Almost everyone who watches this DVD loves it. It has great helicopter shots of the best locations in Scotland. The music is great and the images crystal clear. Only possible criticism is that it does not cover everything and the 88 minutes it runs is too short. Must buy for any lover of Scotland. |

The Castles of Scotland (2005) The DVD examines the castles of Scotland. It gives you a idea of the sheer scale of these castles as they dwarf the breathtaking countryside. This fascinating program also explores the centuries of war and tribal treachery throughout Scottish history. |

History’s Mysteries - The True Story of Braveheart (History Channel) (2005) We all loved the movie. Now you can learn more about the history that inspired it. In filming this documentary the ‘History channel’ lived up to their reputation for high quality and historical accuracy. |

Rick Steves’ Ireland and Scotland, 2000-2007 This DVD contains six episodes, thirty minutes in length of Rick Steves traveling through Ireland and Scotland. He provides a smashing tour of the markets, music, restaurants and nightlife. The kind of things you would want to know if you’re out for a good time. |
